Periapical granuloma (PG) is a localized mass of granulation tissue at the apex of an infected tooth.
PG is a common sequel of chronic pulpitis and develops as a result of low grade infection seeping from the pulp into the periapex.
Peri-apical granuloma is wrongly termed “granuloma” and is actually a localized mass of chronically inflamed granulation tissue!
